Anabelle - Vampire & Werewolf & Witch Read online

  Prologue

Am i a Vampire? or a Werewolf? or a Witch? Am I all three of them? -Yes. Anabella, the rarest of them all, finds herself in an unwarranted battle as witches and vampires vow to get her blood. She is one of the very few first vampires born, however, she is also a werewolf and has witches power. No wonder everybody is after her.

  Chapter 1

  The Year of 1324

All I hear is my panting breath as I ran through the forest. Sometimes my mind would think about my dead mom, other times it tries to reinforce the memory of what happened to me.

Keep running Annabelle, just keep going. I am sorry mom, I left you but I couldn’t hear your heart anymore.

Passing through the tall trees, each had very few leaves hanging on the branches. I stopped running, I slowed my pace, and I reached a lake. I sat down by the rock that was there and I tried to recall what had just happened.

“Mom, what is going on? Please help me! MOM!” I screamed as I try to lose myself from the ropes that are tied tightly to my wrists.

“My dearest Annabelle, I do not know. I thought this was supposed to be for someone else, forgive me,” she cries from her knees.

“Quit your whining! Your daughter is a witch and a werewolf, there are only a few hybrids in this village. She will become truly special once this spell works and you’ll thank me for it, Claire,” said Victoria, my once favorite Aunt, now my most hated person.

Victoria wasn’t really my aunt, she was my mom’s childhood friend. So killing her won’t be that difficult.

“Drink this blood, child,” she comes up to me with a bowl of red thick blood. I sniffed it, it wasn’t human, nor werewolf, or witch. It was salty, filled with iron, and something else I can’t put my mind to.

“Never you bitch!” I spat at her.

“You will, or your mother will die,” she swirls her fingers as my mother begins to choke. Down to her knees already, my mother begins to crouch on the floor.

“Stop! No! Okay. I will give it to me!”

I ingest the disgusting thing, it traveling through my body, doing something to it. I began to cough a lot, gasping for air. I felt my skin boiling, my mind racing, and my heart beating fast as Victoria casts some sort of spell. It is written in Latin, a language I am barely learning for myself.

Soon her encantation finishes and so does my body. My body still feels the same but something doesn’t feel right.

“Okay, I am going to let you go. Let your rage out Annabelle,” she smiles as she unties the ropes.

  Oh, I intend too.

Once Victoria pulls the last knot, I lunge towards her, grabbing her by the neck and look at her dead in the eyes. I grab the knife that she had at her side and I proceed to stab her. She gasps and falls down, laughing.

“You fool, I knew you would do that. Shame it wasn’t me,” blood comes out of her mouth but then something weird happens.

Her body slowly dissipates, then it is revealed to be my mother. Oh god, I killed my mother.

“Mama, I am sorry, no I didn’t mean too. Mama, stay with me,” I sob out, getting onto my knees, pulling her close to me. How did I miss this? How did I miss her scent?

“It’s okay, it’s okay. It will be okay. Just promise me that you will never let them control you. Never let them, not a single opportunity. Please,” she coughs out more blood, her eyes slowly closing.

“Lo prometto madre,” I cry more as her eyelids shut.

  {Translation: I promise you, mother}

My body began to crunch, bones cracking as I let my mother go. My legs began to crunch again, my back arches, and I let out a scream. My senses are heightened, I hear everything, I feel my nails growing longer, and I feel my canines growing. I know this process all too well. I had accepted it. Suddenly my neck snapped and I went black.

A few moments later I woke up, body healed. My senses are still dialed up, hearing everything. But this thirst, excessive thirst, oh dear it’s literally eating me up. Adding the fact that I am very angry at my so-called Aunt for making me kill my mother!

However, all the heightened senses and this extreme thirst is making me panic too hard. Then I heard some leaves being crunched by some heavy footsteps, startling me in the process. I look around, heard it again, then I left my dead mother’s body.

  And I ran.

Running had kept me away from my thirst, now that I am settled I feel it coming back. I start to pant, oh dear, Ezekiel, my brother must be worried. I hear something, it feels far away but I hear a girl screaming, begging for help. I ran towards the direction, fast no less, and see that very girl tremble against a man, trying to kiss her.

“Oh no you don’t, my man,” I snatched him away. Surprisingly he went very far.

“Oh, my goodness thank you,” I hear the girl say but her pulse and her blood was calling to me.

“Go now, your family must be worried. Go,” I look into her eyes without breaking contact. I see her pupils dilate, then she stood up straight, leaving without another word.

She walked away at a normal pace, but I can still hear her heart beating and my mind wanted her blood so bad. I then became very angry, angry that I couldn’t taste the blood.

  Why?

“Hey hun, now you are going to be with me. I’ll make your night worthwhile,” he comes back, still aching from that toss.

I guess his blood will make do, my mind thought.

He grabs my shoulders, twisting me towards me and he begins to kiss me. I don’t grant him access as I pulled my neck to the side giving me access to his neck.

“I like what you are thinking,” he grumbles.

I don’t you fucking turd. I, unknowingly, release my canines and bit down on his neck and he screams.

“You bitch, that hurts, stop,” he tries to move away.

I held my grip on him and I drink the blood, I never let go, I kept drinking him. My thirst is slowly going away and I feel so much better, lighter and different. He begins to fall, losing his balance as I let him go. I lick the remaining blood from my lips and the release a deep, satisfying breath.

  What the hell?

Realization dawned on me as I don’t hear the man’s heartbeat, I checked closer and his breathing is nowhere to be heard.

“Ahh, my dear Annabelle, you have fed,” I hear Victoria call out.

I turned around and I see her with two other witches, all frightened but they hide it.

“What did you do to me,” I growled.

“Simple, you are, were, the first werewolf to possess a witches power. It is quite fascinating actually, so I thought of something else. A friend of mind created immortality and well I decided to test it out on you.”

  “What do you mean were?”

“Oh, in order for immortality to work you needed to die, hence why I killed you.”

“Why was I thirsting for this man’s blood, why can I hear a hearting beating like your witches, why can I smell blood, why do I irk for blood,” I began to panic.

“They are calling it vampires, or vampire. In order to be immortal they need to die, when they come back alive they need blood to supply the heart as it is the only thing that is beating. There is still much too learn.”

I felt myself getting angrier as she continued to talk. I notice she was prepped and ready for a battle. I growled, showing that I am still a werewolf.

“Look, your eyes, they are burning with flames, a pinch of yellow to add to its magnificence. Just like a werewolf but also a vampire. So it works. Now let’s see if you still are a witch,” she smiles.

I turned to look at the shiny water that was reflected by the moonlight, I gasped at my transformation, no werewolf has ever had thes
e eyes. Never.

As if on instinct I went to the two witches at Victoria’s side and bite their jugular off while sucking in some added blood. She turns around to cast a spell, but I said the only word that I trust that I know works.

  Hopefully.

  “Ignis,” I whisper.

  {Translation: Fire}

She bursts into flames, her screams did her no good as she tries to cast a spell to break it, but I hold my gaze.

“You....are...now...the...rarest...of....them......all,” she croaks out as she dies in flames.

  Rare indeed.

  Chapter 2

  Annabelle

  Present Day

“Listen here! The meeting is now in session!” Grace belts from her seat as the witches begin quieting down in the conference room.

The room itself is small, the chandeliers make it look extra tiny and cluster due to them being a bit oversized. Grace sits in the at the tip of the rounded table, overlooking the six witches, six werewolf packs, and the seven vampires. All of which brought important personnel to the meeting.

The wolves and the vampires took a minute or two to listen, but they soon quieted down. They do not want to feel the wrath of the most powerful witches coven.

“Good. Today we are here to discuss a couple of new land mergers as well as this preminiation that Genevieve and Madeline have seen, from the Ruby Coven,” Grace looks up at all of us.

Grace is literally what her name is, graceful and wise. Her long black hair reaches just above her waistline, curling out at the end. Her mocha skin color compliments her big brown round eyes, making her sweet and kind. She is projected out from the Ancestral Land, a land between dead witches and the living witches, where the power of the witches derive from. Grace has died long ago, but her memory and her presence remains strong. She has been the leader of the Diamond Coven, a coven that is very select few yet very powerful, for some long time as the current leader has gone AWOL.

  Or so she says.

“Why should we listen to witches, they are never right! Their visions are just as good as those crappy carnival fortune tellers!” yelled Alpha Derek from the Crimson Pack, the richest and most snobbiest of werewolf packs.

“Listen here, dog! You might want to believe us if you want your pack to survive,” yells Madeline, who is the co-leader of the Ruby Coven.

Madeline and Genevieve are sisters, born three years apart with Madeline being the oldest of the two. Their coven, the Ruby Coven, is known as the fighting witches, witches that use their spells and magic for combat. Comes in handy when you are fighting vampires and werewolves.

“Oh fuck you!” One of the Betas yelled back.

“You wish asshole! At least my group is not being investigated for attempted murder within our society!”

This causes an extreme uproar, both sides yelling at each other with the other covens and packs yelling at each other. I roll my eyes at this behavior, something I should get used to by now at least with werewolves and vampires as their long standing feud has gone on for centuries. No one knows the real reason but we, as my brother Ezekiel and I, think it is all about ego. Ego is the greatest enemy among the two supernatural species, even witches if you count the Ruby and Amethyst Covens, the rest of the covens tend to lay pretty low.

“Tace!” Grace bellows from her seat, standing up in the process, making herself ten times larger.

  {Translation: Shut up!}

The room becomes suddenly silent as the witches and werewolves begin talking but nothing coming out of their mouths. Some people are grasping their throats as if they are gasping for air. Grace then mumbles something, I think a spell releasing the previous spell. Then the room fills with whispers.

“Alrighty then. Lets begin with the land mergers. According to the map and contract created in 1932, the Pearl Coven, primarily located in the state of Oregon, will like to make land in some parts of south Washington where the Crescent Pack lies. Crescent Pack do you allow such claim,” Grace looks at Alpha James and his Luna Erin.

“I will allow the Pearl Coven to migrate up north on a few conditions,” Alpha James says quite sternly. He is known for his proper etiquette since he comes from a wealthy family, “The Coven must only practice their magic in given lands and not use their spells against my pack unless one of my pack members poses a threat. The coven must also pay a fine, once a year.”

“How much is this said fine,” the red hair man speaks lowly in the microphone. Angel, the coven’s leader, is the newly formed leader as the previous one passed away.

“I was thinking a starting rate at $1000 U.S. We can negotiate, it really depends on the land,” Erin says as James coughs roughly. James is very, very old, ridden with undisclosed health issues. His son, Sean, is currently preparing to take over.

The Pearl Coven begins muttering amongst themselves, then Angel turns to the microphone, “We accept. We can negotiate at your convenience. Thank you.”

They both nod to each other, then sit down. Grace then hits the mallet twice, announcing the point of that meeting is finished. We usually come to meetings every three months, no exceptions. If one of the leaders of each group cannot make it, then they have to send someone to represent them. It is the only meeting that can issues can be resolved with...calmness? Then again, things are never calm.

“Next,” Grace sighs knowing this next bullet point is probably bullshit to begin with, “are the Ruby Coven and their premonition.”

“Thank you,” both sisters said in unison. Then Genevieve speaks, “As you are aware, every century or so, or maybe every other decade there has always been some type of conflict. Whether is mates rejecting mates, witches falling in love with vampires, newborn vampires on a killing spree, and the list shall go on.”

The Madeline jumps in, “However, while doing some new spells found by the Amethyst Coven, we had a little glimpse into the future. Well, more like pictures to be exact.”

“What we saw is Annabelle,” Genevieve points at me, “dying at the hands of a few people that we could not see. Her heart lying at the palms of someone’s hand while her eyes turn snow white and skin grey as the moon.”

The heads begin to turn at me, each of the eyeing on me at this declaration. My brother squeezes my hand as I stare into the hearts of both Madeline and Genevieve. Their bloodline, their ancestors has always caused me trouble, in fact it was their ancestor Victoria who turned me into what everyone desires.

  A tribrid.

A tribrid is exactly what it sounds like; a breed made up of three beings. A hybrid is one being made up of two, like werewolf and vampire, example my brother. A tribrid is werewolf, vampire, and witch. There is only one of those beings and that one is me.

“And how do I know you are not lying,” I say in a strict and harsh voice. I felt some witches heart rate ramp up, it is no secret that they fear me.

“Please! Why would we lie?” Madeline’s heart rate slightly increases but then returns to regular beats.

“It is no secret that your family past and present, and probably future, has always targeted me for what I am. My blood is something your family cannot seem to resist,” I say as a matter of fact.

“It is true, for centuries the Adams family tree has been hunting the Knight family ties, both witches and werewolves. Despite how little they come in numbers, they always have been targets,” one of the vampires speak. My eyes look at the direction and my thoughts are confirmed when I see the blonde hair and baby blue eyes. Jax, the first ever vampire.

“Are you saying that because you two were a thing or you are actually pointing out facts,” Genevieve teases.

“Don’t act stupid, Genevieve. You know your family’s history very well, too well. You have read all of your family’s memoirs and spell books. Now, are your glimpses in the future true or not because I am getting real impatient,” I say as I feel my eyes changing color.

A scare tactic I learn while fighting. That somehow always gets the answer that I want and sure enough
I do, “It’s true Annabelle. I swear it is,” Madeline confesses.

“And what do you suggest we do? Protect her?” Alpha Rose of the Bloodrose Pack speaks, “I mean, no offense Annabelle, you really don’t need any of our protection.”

“Of course I don’t. But I do want your help discovering who is the culprit. To bring them to justice, of course,” I feign a smile.

“Since when do you do that? You always act on impulse,” Alpha Stephanie of the Solar Pack scoffs.

“You know me too well, Steph.”

“Then what do we do?” Jax and his sister Jacqueline asks Grace.

“We figure out who is trying to kill Annabelle. She is all of us, so we must protect her. Afterall, she has been useful to every pack, vampire, and coven. The least we could do is help her find the culprits,” Grace looks at me with symptah.

“But do not make it your top priority. I am sure all of you have other business to handle,” I lean back against the chair.

“Of course we do. We cannot protect a princess like you,” Primmortal Daryl snickers.

“Yet we cannot protect ourselves from idiots like you Daryl. Tell me, how is your vampire girlfriend you killed in bed? How does one really kill another vampire during sex?” I pretend to look interested in confused.

“Why you little,” he gets up quickly and fails to attack me. He may be a tad bit stronger, both physically and age wise, but he is not as quick as me. I dodge his grip throw him out the window in the process.

  “Annabelle!” Grace yells.

  “Yes, your Grace?”

  “You know the rules.”

“See you all in three months!” I get up and walk away.

‘If you start a fight or end up fighting with the causer, you must leave until the meeting is adjourned’. I roll my eyes at the notion, knowing that he started the whole thing. I have always hated Daryl as Daryl always hated me.

Sitting outside the hall, I think about Genevieve and Madeline’s little prophecy shit. It is surprise that supernatural beings are after me, been a target since 1403, but why now? Why now do I die? What makes this year or the next or whether this occurs the day I die.
